Agriculture Sustainability, Productivity and Profitability

The project, “Agriculture Sustainability, Productivity and Profitability” will involve research in Agricultural policies and adjacent disciplines to provide insights on steps that will make agriculture in India sustainable, productive and profitable for farmers. The project will also provide policy related opinions to industry, stakeholders in agriculture and the government to enable them with well researched and informed positions in Agriculture. Innovations in policies and technologies to promote sustainable agriculture through precision farming and other farm practices will be the hallmark of this project. In particular, focus will be on three states – Punjab to make rice cultivation sustainable, Maharashtra for Sugarcane and Tamil Nadu for Bananas. These three case studies will give important insights on promoting sustainable agriculture.
