After 15 years as Chairperson of the Board of Governors of ICRIER, Dr. Isher Judge Ahluwalia stepped down from her position due to declining health. She was elected Chairperson at the Annual General Meeting held on August 8, 2005, and her resignation accepted, in a special meeting of the Board of Governors held, by coincidence, on August 8, 2020. She is succeeded by Mr. Pramod Bhasin, currently Vice Chair of the Board of Governors. Isher, as she is affectionately known to friends and colleagues, will continue as Chairperson Emeritus, a position specially created to honour her exceptional contributions to ICRIER. As news of Isher's resignation spread, good wishes poured in from all over the world. We thank you jointly and severally for your thoughtfulness and also for the expression of your support for the new Chair, Pramod Bhasin.
The August 2020 issue of the Newsletter provides a quick recap of ICRIER’s research and policy engagements during the month of July 2020 under different thrust areas. We hope you take a few moments to glance through these updates and engage more exhaustively with anything that interests you. We are constantly working on upgrading our Newsletter design for the ease of readability. We look forward to your comments and suggestions on this latest format.
