DECEMBER 2021

To raise awareness and inform policy debate surrounding the COP26 Summit at Glasgow, our Climate Change, Urbanization and Sustainability (CCUS) team created a climate blog-fest, writing 15 blogs and op-eds over 15 days (between Oct 31 and Nov 14) on COP26 and related issues.

ICRIER organised two webinars in November - ‘The 12th Ministerial Conference of the WTO: Expected Outcomes and the Path Forward’, was organised in partnership with Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS); and ‘Africa and India: Experiences with transformation of food and agriculture and opportunities for learning and collaboration’ was conducted jointly with the Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa and the Center for Development Research (ZEF).

ICRIER was a part of the Committee that organised the first ever India Internet Governance Forum-2021 (IIGF-2021). Our report on 'Building an Inclusive Digital Society for Rural India' was released at the IIGF-2021 by Shri Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Minister of State, MeitY. ICRIER also hosted two workshop sessions at the forum.

Our faculty released policy briefs on ‘Formulating New Approaches to Strengthen Multilateral Trading System’ and 'Facilitating India’s Act East Policy Gap Analysis in Infrastructure at Land Custom Stations in the North Eastern Region of India' and a Working Paper on ‘India’s Platform Economy and Emerging Regulatory Challenges’.

Drawing on their research work, our faculty members wrote over 33 opinion pieces and other articles in various newspapers on a wide range of topics including on carbon taxes, multilateralism, agriculture policy, supply chains and employment, among others.
