Vacancy: Research Fellow (Urbanisation and Climate Change)

The Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER) is inviting applications for a full-time Research Fellow for its Urbanization and Climate Change team.

 

Based in New Delhi, India, ICRIER is one of India’s leading think tanks and is ranked number one in the country by the University of Pennsylvania’s Go To Think Tank Index for its impact on public policy in India. Established in 1981, it offers a dynamic, open and nonhierarchical working environment and aims to enhance the knowledge content for policymaking for India’s effective engagement with the global economy.

 

ICRIER’s research is organized under 8 thrust areas, one of which is the challenges and opportunities of urbanization. We are looking for a qualified candidate who is passionate about urbanization and its various challenges and wants to be part of an energetic team or experienced researchers who work on issues including but not limited to urban growth and infrastructure development, climate change, and energy.

 

The ideal candidate will combine technical and academic knowledge to help craft public policies and have a sound understanding of contemporary urban issues. Candidates with a PhD or soon to be completed PhD degree from either a leading Indian or foreign University in urban planning, urban economics or a related discipline along with a record of peer-reviewed publications are welcome to apply by sending their detailed CV and a one page cover letter highlighting their suitability to the Director, ICRIER at director2@icrier.res.in.
