The Union Budget 2007-08:
Reform and Development Perspectives

A special discussion organized jointly by
ICRIER, IDF, NCAER, and NIPFP

7th March 2007

To step back from the  feverish reporting that surrounds the Union Budget and to explore in a more  reflective way the reform and development implications of the Union Budget 2007-08, four leading Indian economic policy research institutes came together to present their assessment of this Budget.  This was the first time that these four institutes, ICRIER, IDF, NCAER, and NIPFP, joined hands in this way to lead a broad-ranging discussion of the important policy signals contained in the Union Budget. The seminar was chaired by
Mr. Sunil Jain, Associate Editor, Business Standard.
