JUNE 2021

These have been the most difficult of times in so many ways. No one has been left untouched by tragedy or the deep sense of concern or fear. At ICRIER our teams have fought through this magnificently. The June 2021 issue of the newsletter encapsulates our research and policy outreach activities during the month of May 2021.

During the month, ICRIER participated at a meeting hosted by Niti Aayog with leading Think Tanks on “Fight against Covid-19 Pandemic and its Economic Impact”. Ashok Gulati represented ICRIER at the meeting and presented the key messages from ICRIER which were later published as a Policy Brief titled 'Government Response to Covid-19 and its Economic Impact', authored by Pramod Bhasin, Ashok Gulati, Deepak Mishra, Alok Sheel and Nisha Taneja. In addition to this, ICRIER-KAS Policy Brief 'Tracking Covid-19 – Lessons for from India', by Ali Mehdi was published in May. Both these publications have been receiving a great deal of attention.

ICRIER scholars published articles in leading national and international journals, including articles examining India’s energy mix for the electricity sector in 2030 and the outlook for the Indian economy.

Apart from these, several articles were published in newspapers and other media on a variety of contemporary issues, including, macroeconomic policy, agriculture, climate change, employment, the G20 and trade, among others. If you have missed these or any other activity, you would find the links below.

We hope you take some time to glance through other updates from May 2021. We would love to hear back from you.
