Mr. Malay Kotal is a Research Associate in the Climate Change, Urbanization, and Sustainability (CCUS) team at ICRIER. He has been working on issues of urban informality, housing and land questions with private clients. He holds a master’s degree in Geography from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. He has been part of the Urban Fellow Programme at the Indian Institute for Human Settlements, Bangalore and completed his bachelor’s from the Vidyasagar University, Medinipur. His research interests include circular migration, affordable housing, informal economy and the political economy of land development.
