This study, based on a pan-India primary survey, examined the impact of allowing FDI in retail on different stakeholders. It presented the perception and views of the stakeholders, and how the sector has been liberalized across a number of developed and developing countries. It identified the issues faced by the stakeholders, including regulatory gaps, and presented a road map for retail liberalisation so as to maximise the gains and minimise the adverse impacts.
