In the context of the India-EU Bilateral Trade and Investment Agreement (BTIA), this project sponsored by the Indian government examined India’s current and future trade possibilities with EU in 13 services sectors, identified the trade barriers and suggested how these can be addressed under the agreement. It analyses the commitments made by the EU and India in the WTO and other bilateral/regional agreements. It suggested reforms that are needed to improve the productivity and global competitiveness of the respective sectors and enable them to meet the challenges and opportunities arising from the agreement.
