Towards Greater Regulatory Cooperation in Asia-Pacific for Boosting E-commerce and Paperless Trade
3 June 2024, 10:40 – 11:40 am, UNCC, Bangkok and online
In the rapidly evolving landscape of global digital commerce, regulatory frameworks play a pivotal role in facilitating seamless cross-border trade. in this regard, this event aims to address the critical challenges and explore the myriad opportunities within the region’s e-commerce sector. The session will feature speakers discussing the status, challenges, and strategies for enhancing cross-border paperless trade, specifically within the BBIN (Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal) sub-region, as well as broader measures taken by regional governments like India in facilitating EXIM logistics. By fostering a dialogue among experts from academia, industries and international organizations, the session seeks to propel regulatory harmonization to boost e-commerce trade across the Asia-Pacific region.
This side event is organized as part of the Paperless Trade Week, which is led by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) and supported by the Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER) and MSL Group.
