Vipin is an energy transition and climate professional with over 19 years of experience across India and the Middle East, with expertise in energy efficiency, industrial decarbonisation, demand-side management, renewable energy, and climate policy. He has worked extensively with governments, utilities, regulators, development organisations, and industry stakeholders on energy transition and sustainable development initiatives.

Prior to joining ICRIER, Vipin held leadership positions at the Swaniti Initiative, the Alliance for an Energy Efficient Economy (AEEE), TARSHID (Saudi Arabia’s Super ESCO), and the National Productivity Council, Government of India. His experience includes working on major programmes related to industrial energy efficiency, energy efficiency financing, demand-side management, ESCO market development, industrial decarbonisation, and utility reform. He has also engaged with organisations including the World Bank, Asian Development Bank (ADB), UNDP, UNIDO, GIZ, Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), and Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL). His areas of expertise include energy transition, industrial decarbonisation, energy efficiency, climate policy, renewable energy, sustainable development, net-zero pathways, and energy financing.

Vipin holds a degree in Electrical Engineering and an MBA from the Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi. He is currently pursuing the Advanced Management Programme in Public Policy at the Indian School of Business. Outside work, he enjoys reading, photography, playing badminton, and practising yoga.
