This study examined the role of the express delivery industry globally and in India. It identified the areas where it can support Indian businesses to grow and exports, the issues that the sector faces and made policy recommendation. One of the key recommendations was to treat express as an essential service, which has happened during the 2020-COVID-19 pandemic. The study was based on secondary data and information analysis and a primary survey.
The report was published by Oxford University Press and has been released in a Seminar by Mr. Ajay Shankar, Member Secretary of the National Manufacturing Competitiveness Council (NMCC) at Hotel The Lalit, Barakhamba Lane, New Delhi on Feb. 8, 2012.
