ICRIER and the Fairfax Centre for Free Enterprise have entered into a two-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on joint research, policy dialogue, stakeholder engagement, and technical assistance in the area of trade facilitation and MSME integration into global value chains. The programme aims to identify practical, evidence-based reforms that reduce transaction costs, simplify trade procedures, and strengthen the participation of Indian MSMEs in international markets.
As part of this collaboration, the first joint activity is a stakeholder consultation titled “From Commitment to Architecture: Designing the Next Phase of India’s Customs Reform.” The consultation will examine ongoing customs reforms in India and generate evidence-based recommendations to support the development of a modern, interoperable, transparent, and efficient customs administration system.
