Under the research collaboration signed recently between ICRIER and National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX), ICRIER’s agriculture team will research to increase growth in the commodities markets in India for the benefit of farmer’s community and provide policy relation opinions to the Government and Industry and also for improving investor education, awareness and participation in the commodities markets in India. This study will be towards making agriculture marketing function more efficient helping the farmers to get the best possible price.
The study will also indentify the characteristics of commodities that need to be brought under future contracts helping SEBI to have a robust system of developing commodity markets.
