Sulakshana Rao is a Senior fellow at ICRIER. Her areas of interest are agri-food systems, resource economics, ecosystem valuation and sustainability assessments. Prior to joining ICRIER, she was senior consultant with the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India. She has a doctorate in economics and completed her PhD in the subject area of natural resource economics from Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore, in 2018. She is the recipient of the prestigious INSPIRE doctoral fellowship by the Department of Science and Technology. She completed her master’s degree in Agricultural Economics from Punjab Agricultural University, Punjab, India, in 2014 and graduated in agriculture from Kerala Agricultural University, Thrissur, India, in 2012. Her research has been published in various international and national journals and other articles.
