The project addresses the challenges and opportunities associated with cross-border data flows in the BBINS region, which includes Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. It tackles the regional fragmentation in data governance policies that create barriers to the free flow of data which limits digital trade and economic integration in the BBINS region, and seeks to assess the impact of regulations on cross-border data flows and facilitate dialogue among BBINS countries to develop a regional network for the free flow of data.
