The paper “Health Insurance for the Poor in India” was prepared to give an overview on the topic. Earlier draft of the paper was presented at ICRIER in a workshop organised under the project “New institutional and Economic Approaches to Health Insurance for the Poor in India” on 17th March, 2003. This revised paper incorporates
comments made by the workshop participants.
