BRIEF PROFILE

Purvi Thangaraj is working as a Research Associate at the Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER), New Delhi. She joined the Natural Resource/Environment sub-vertical in the agriculture team in 2021. She is currently working with Dr. Ashok Gulati and Bharat Sharma on “Degradation of Air Quality due to Agriculture in India: Assessment, Prospects and the Costs”, which is part of a larger study focusing on the sustainability, productivity, and profitability aspects of agriculture specifically from the three resources of land, water, and air.

 

She has recently completed her post-graduation in Water Science and Policy, from the Centre for Public Affairs and Critical Theory (C-PACT) affiliated to the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at Shiv Nadar University. She has graduated in B.Sc. (Research) in Economics from the same institute. Purvi’s areas of research interest include natural resource management, WASH, sustainable agriculture, livelihoods and other related domains.
