BRIEF PROFILE
Saptorshi Gupta is a Research Assistant at the Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations, currently working with the Digital Economy, Start-ups and Innovation (DESI) team. A postgraduate in Biostatistics and Demography from the International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS), he was awarded the Dr. Sukumar Mukerji Gold Medal for securing the first rank in his cohort. He was also the recipient of a Government of India fellowship award for two years (2020-22). He has done his Bachelor’s from St. Xavier’s College Kolkata with a major in Economics.
Before joining ICRIER, he interned with the Population Council and worked for the UDAYA project on formulating policy briefs to improve the lives of adolescents and meet the Sustainable Development Goals 2030. He has authored a few research articles and holds modest experience in research and scientific writing. His research interest lies in the interdisciplinary cross-section of economics, public health and demography.
